This the under body shield that covers the engine and that you need to remove for an oil change. There two smaller ones on each side. This is the large one in the center. I don't know the BMW term for this shield. May known as shield engine compartment./underfloor panel but this does not come up in a BMW part search.

Those are the under engine heat shields. I don't recall ever having to remove one to do an oil change.
