When I was going thru my Valve Body on my 1991 850 with ZF-4HP-22/24 1043 030 045

I came up with an additional Checkball .172 in Diameter
The only place it looks like it can go is in the bottom right marked with an arrow of these pictures.
Any Ideas?
I definitely have the 4 Solenoid version
All of the valve Body
Having your name in lights is, of course, a cue to make yourself look foolish I will do my best not to do that
The 1043 030 045 is a 4HP24 and they normally have 3 check balls. Did you find 4 when you disassembled the valve body? Or have you got a new set and there is an extra one? Either way, I don't think the rogue ball lives near the arrow.

Asked my wrenching buddy whos is specialized in vb service, reply: That ball in that position is only used on non electronic 4HP22.

Filled it up with 2 gallons of Dexron, Poured a bunch on the floor because of such a small hole in the trans fill tube. Fired it up and drove it to the gas station. 1-2 shift was a lot better but still very firm. In fact pulling out of the gas station it chirped the rear. Shifted thru all the gears and downshifted nicely. Reverse worked. Checked the fluid when I got home and it was not even on the bottom of the stick which I assume affects the 1-2 shift. Will get a better funnel and add some more Dexron and get it to the correct level on Thursday.
I use a funnel with a thin hose attached which fits into the dipstick tube. Fill the ATF could.
Fluid Level Checking Procedure for all Transmissions with a Dipstick :
The vehicle must be level and without load. With the engine running, switch on the air conditioning. This will increase the idle speed and ensure that all oil passages in the transmission are filled with oil.
Step on the brake firmly, apply parking brake fully and move the selector lever through each gear position, pausing briefly in each gear.
Pull out dipstick and wipe clean with a lint free cloth
Reinsert dipstick completely. Pull out dipstick and place bottom tip on a level surface, measure level from bottom tip as shown on dipstick

One of the problems I ran into when both dropping the valve body and putting it back in is that it is relatively heavy and you have two items to connect and disconnect. I fabricated this little piece to hold the valve body on the top of my floor jack. The wiring runs down the middle of it and you can spend the hour plus trying to get the wiring hooked back up while it just sits there
