outgoing car: 2007 530xi with 119K – wonderful 8 years of ownership, but spent $2K last year in maintenance, staring at more than that this year… with who knows what might follow.

incoming car: 2010 535xi with 40K – only 3 years newer (and still an 8 year old car) but crazy low miles -- thats an average of 5K PER YEAR! it still smells new.

as y'all know, both are basically "the same" car, chassis/sheetmetal is the same, but incoming is the last of this generation and does feature some meaningful updates as well as everything being a teensy bit different.

newer gen went to a twin-turbo and jumped to 300hp. i drive like an old man, but it's nice having an excess of power/torque. fingers crossed that the HP fuel pump will not rear its head. loving the camel leather..."soft like buttah"..corinthian perhaps? ;-)

over time i'll be getting tints, 18" rims, euro rear lights w/ amber turns, LED retrofits all around
