I have a 2000 328i with the original OEM (DWA) alarm.
I changed the two settings for alarm beep on lock/unlock using NCS Expert:
QUIT_AKUST_ENTSCH Alarm beep on unlock
QUIT_AKUST_SCHAERF Alarm beep on lock
And surely, the car beeps, but the sound volume is so low that the sound of the locks opening and closing is louder than the beep, which makes it pretty pointless.. If I set off the alarm, the alarm beeps are loud, so I don't think the problem is with the alarm speaker.
Is that just how it is, or can something be changed to change the beep or the volume? Anyone try this before?
The point is to know the car is locked. Why do you want to hear it when you are not by the car? Or more importantly why do you want to announce to the world "hey everyone I'm locking my car!"
