Hello all. I recently had the sun visors recovered in leather (along with 90 percent of the rest of the interior) and removing the sliders were a necessary evil to achieve this. As you would assume the vanity lights no longer illuminate. I have decided an acceptable compromise would be to wire each vanity light with their respective map light so that they turn on when the map button is pressed. Has anyone ever done something like this, or can the wiring gurus chime in?
It can be done with a bit of fiddling - but how about using a mercury tilt switch so that they illuminate when pulled down:

If you don't fancy that it really is just a case of routing wires from the map lights (which will need soldering inside the light assembly) to the vanity lights.

That mercury switch sounds intriguing. I will look into that.
