Folks... brand new to this site, so any help is appreciated, I have an '87 635CSi (auto) and have discovered and suspect that at one time the cruise control for a previous owner stopped working. That owner was unable to locate a replacement "cruise cut off switch" and removed the original part and thereby disabled the cc. This switch has two leads and a vacuum hose port.... so any help on locating this would be welcome.
Not sure how I missed your post, but I'll kick it back to life. It's an easy fix for the automatic, since the cruise cut-off is actually the brake light switch. It just cuts power to the CC computer to reset the unit & disable cruise control. The vac hose & harness you're seeing is something different, I'd bet it's the interior air temp sensor in the lower dash kick panel. That unit has both a vac hose and a small 3-pin white inline plug. If it's missing it can cause your A/C to be 'on the fritz' too.
Save the manuals!
