    Should I purchase 2012 550i??

Looking to purchase my first BMW and came across a 2012 550i M sport with 90k miles. It seems to be well maintained (at our local BMW dealer) and I was informed that the only thing that had to be done with the “customer care package” recall was injector(s). The warranty expires at the end of this month. I priced out an extended warranty by carchex and it is pretty hefty for another 75k miles ($4200). Are these warranties worth getting? Are their better companies?

For the price, just shy of $20k, I think it is worth it considering the upgrades in the vehicle (Forgestar 20” wheels, brand new Pilot Sport4 S tires), rear diffuser, and BC coil-overs.

I test drove the vehicle and have to say I’m very impressed with the acceleration and handling. It’s a little louder than expected given the removal of the resonators but I can put them back if needed.

Anything else to consider or recommended before purchasing?

I am willing to pay more for a slightly newer model 2013/14 if that’s the recommendation.

what does the service history show? any oil leaks or oil usage? You might price out an extended warranty from Fidelity as well. Looks nice though. Good luck.

Also check out Route 66 for auto warranties. Typically the best prices I've found and I never had any trouble getting repairs paid.

Other cars that don't matter, and then..

    Oh, my.
Do a bit of research on the N63 engine before you jump on this.
Even the later N63TU is somewhat controversial.
