Searched for this and cane up empty handed, so I figure I'll post something to help anyone else that may be in the same boat...
My '94 (11/93) 325i had a damaged steering lock / ignition housing. I thought I did my research has correctly on RealOEM, and purchased a used housing from a forum member that was from a '97 E36. Everything fit, kinda of...
Looking back, it appears that the steering column made a change in '95. From what I've seen, it appears that the late model housing requires a column with a larger diameter. (Aprox. 46.5mm.) The late column housing on an early column was loose, rocking from side to side.
After placing spacers (~.030") around the column, everything sits nice and snug as expected.
