1998 m3 driver side window will not operate

my driver side window ceased to function on my 98 m3 convertible. All the other windows operate and i verified that the fuses are all ok and that the switch works. I do hear a slight click when i operate the switch coming from the motor. Anyone else experience this? If it were a relay, wouldn't that affect the operation of all the windows? I am thinking it is a bad connection to the motor or the motor itself. I did some more troubleshooting this afternoon and have determined i am getting 2.4 volts at the switch, but nothing at the motor terminal when i close the switch. I am wondering if this could be a power window relay issue, but one would think that would affect all windows if it were bad...

I'm having a similar issue on my M3. Although from what I can tell the switch and motor are working fine, the problem seems to be the regulator. Perhaps you're in a similar predicament?

I also had just a click in the door but the window was struggling for a while beforehand. I suspected the regulator so I ordered one. When I freed the motor from the old regulator, it worked but I had the wrong part. I’m assuming the coupe and convertible use the same part# so if you go to Rockauto, don’t buy the VDO WR40403 because it doesn’t fit. You don’t want to end up like me with 2X4’s holding the window up.

The VDO WR40403 corresponds to this BMW part number:
    https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/par...609&series=E36

And that's the mechanism for the sedan, touring and compact.. The coupe and convertible are not listed for that part number and probably have another part number, probably identical coupe/convertible..
