Hey guys, I'm moving to CT next week and need to find a new place to work on my lemon, uh, e38. Does anyone know a shop in the area who accepts parts from customers? I'm at FCP Euro, so it'd be so so nice to bring my own things. Suddenly an A/C compressor goes from a jillion dollars to a couple hundred with a lifetime warranty lol
It'd be nice to use someplace that isn't threatened with having a manual e38 too, especially since I need a new driveshaft and want to order the Euro one myself.
Welcome to CT!
Try Nino Performance in Bethany. 256 Amity Rd. Main guy is Joe.
They work on a variety of high end imports and are(or used to be) very flexible with bringing your own parts in.

Welcome to CT! It is good to see few members in CT.
The webpage Gorgebest linked is very helpful. I personally worked on most of my cars and can't say about any shops, but I know people who have used Inline motorwerks in Niantic, CT and had great experiences (few with E39 M5s). There is one in danbury that works on my friend's S2 M5 and I can ask him about it if you'd like to know more about.
As always, Feel free to shoot a PM and get together once a while. I'd love to get members to get together.

I'll also be moving to CT from sunny CA. I do most of my own work but its nice to have a reputable shop on reserve. Looking for a nice community within 30 minutes of Storrs. Can anyone tell me a bit about Manchester? Thanks!
Manchester is a great town. My cousins lives there. They have a good food selections around.

When I left, Manchester was one of the few growing areas in CT. It is close to Hartford and fairly close to Bradley airport, reasonable commute to Storrs, and has a number of restaurants and shopping, since the mall is there.

Manchester area is pretty nice for a city. I live in the sticks, so I avoid highly populated areas. Great access to Hartford and Uconn, for sure.
Anderson Auto Electric in Waterbury is the jam. Azam is excellent. He has a 750il e38 and plays with high end euro cars all the time!

Thanks for all your input!
Did you end up finding a good shop near Milford?
Go to Helmuts right on the west end of Milford. They are fair, honest, and very knowledgeable. Have been in business for a very long time. They have done stuff for me in past where I supplied the parts.

Not in Milford, but my friend in Norwalk is an absolute genius when it comes to BMWs and is very well priced. Shop name is Lucky13.
PM me if you want their info.

Tony, the owner of Tex Auto at 106 Commercial St, Bridgeport, CT is most likely the best BMW repair facility in the area. Small private owner, in the industry for decades with an extreme passion and knowledge of BMWs. I was in the industry for 12 years and never crossed a BMW owner who hasn't used or heard of Tony.
