Hard Motorsports Rotor Backing Plates Fitment Issues (E36)

Has anyone had fitment issues with the rotor backing plates that come with the Hard Motorsports Brack Duct Cooling kit? I am running the euro floating rotors and was having clearance issues at both the top and bottom of the ring that comes off the plate. In the top two pictures, I started bending the rim and it ended up popping off the plate, so I cut that section off entirely. In the bottom photo, the rim was sitting right on the rotor lip so I had to bend it upwards so the rotor could spin freely. The picture only shows the beginning part of what I had to do; had to bend the entire lip until it ends. Pictures are just driver side; passenger side required the same modification.

I use them with a Stoptech BBK. I had to do a little grinding on the lower control arm, and some minor bending of the flange to get them to fit without rubbing.

I looked at their stuff as well as a video on installing their stuff on an e46 M3. Does not fit without work. Asked them some questions on line and the answer I got back was, "We have not tested fitment with this exact product. We do run a BBK on our E36 with the 332mm backing plates. The plates are compatible with the rotors."

I opted for a set of Mustang plates that are on the way

I just installed the plates last night-- I run the 332mm Stoptech kit. Hard's advice for me was to use the black ("Stock -to- 332mm") sized backing plate.

After I cut off the old dust shield they bolted right up and cleared the rotor hat just fine, if anything they are a bit undersized for this rotor size. I have not checked control arm clearance to be fair-- didn't think about that at 11pm. I'll take a look today when I'm back at the car.
