Edit: Does it matter which way up the 2 power steering hoses go into the cooling coil at the front of the car? In the 530 it seems the hose from the reservoir goes in the top port whereas on the 540 that hose goes into the bottom port as standard? I assume there are no valves inside the cooling coil.

I replaced the hose from the tank to the cooling coil and after a week it started leaking. Cleaning up the o-rings didn't make any difference, but swapping the hoses around seemed to fix the problem. I asked one of the techs at the indie and he reckoned I should probably put the hoses back the way they were originally next time I change anything or top up the ATF oil, but likely what caused the leak was not using silicone grease on the new o-rings prior to installing them.

Re-edit above, question regarding which way up to put the power steering hoses into the cooling coil and if it matters or not.
It just flows through for cooling
Set the controls for the heart of the sun
+1 flows top to bottom, but if reversed will there be an impact? Who the hell knows what the temp difference might be. The little bracket that holds the hoses to the cooler usually have the swing bracket holder on the bottom as it makes getting to the screw to install the second hose line and tighten easier. But it is your car and your repairs.....
