Pelican, FCP European, ECS Tuning - All good. I find ECS to be the least expensive, though FPC has LIFETIME warranty.

The BMW/Mini Parts Store seems to have the lowest prices on Genuine BMW parts online, so if you need a fan shroud or underbody panel or another non-aftermarket piece, they're a good resource. For parts like gaskets and the like, I'd recommend sticking to the OE brands that FCP Euro sells. Except Corteco. Their engine mounts SUCK for the I6s.

I have found that Pelican is the least expensive but I live a couple miles from FCP so at times that's more useful.

And I agree, FCP often wins over "cheapest" because of the no-questions-asked, "I beat on it with a hammer while drunk and spray-painted profanity on it, now I want another one" lifetime warranty. Their dealer parts are actual dealer parts but indeed they are not always cheapest on those in particular. Here's the thing about FCP. If you buy the "OEM" part, or even a generic part, and later decide its not good enough, send it back, get full credit, order the dealer part. Easy and peasy.
For M62TU VCG's specifically - Victor Reinz is all good, I've used their stuff for my german cars for years. They might be the OE I don't know... The Elring stuff seems OK to, but I've had less of it pass through my hands, VR is my go to still

It's not necessary to hog down on the nuts; once they bottom out on the head surface, they're as tight as they need to be.
