Supposedly there's a tab on each side of the metal shaft of the switch to release switch...don't see them. Anyone offer help?

A screw can fall out and prevent pulling the switch out:

I just pop the entire vent out (there's a screw up top that comes out after you remove the HL knob's cap, nut and stalk)...switch is simple to replace at that point. The vent is a bit tight, but it comes out just fine.
Can see one of the switch tabs below...I had the switch exposed to replace the little bulb and to tap a dimmer wire (the big grey one if anyone needs to know) for a gauge install.

Absolutely unnecessary to remove the lower panels (photos 1-5).

I chose to pop out the entire front vent so I could see those dang tabs....what a PITA. Anyway, it's done....had to purchase a thin blade screwdriver. Thanks to everyone for your advice/help.
