I sold the black car after picking up this 2001 330i. 305k on the clock but it's the hardest pulling 330 I've ever driven. The reinforcements and mild upgrades have been done by the previous owner. I don't know much about the PO but there's a bmwcca sticker on it so I think this car was tracked at one point. All of the bolts come off easy. Hose clamps are rust free and new oem bmw. It even has that weird option for the automatic rear window sun shade.
oh yea, it came with an LSD that I can't identify with a Z4 cover!
Since I bought it, I put in my sparco, Forune auto 510s, SLR kit, and E36 M3 front spindles. It'll probably eventually get the LS2 but man this thing is a hoot out of the box.
I need a clutch tho. I was trying to see if an E36 M3 clutch will fit since they are cheaper, single mass, and not self adjusting. They run the same ZF trans so I don't see why not. Anyone else got a clutch kit with flywheel for under 500?

Not with a flywheel... But why replace the flywheel If it's not chattering? I think I previously linked you the kit I got, but it retained the DMFW. I haven't had any kinds of issues though.
Congrats on the new whip! Love the color, I think it's one of the best colors the 330i came in. Being a 2001, I presume you've got the 5 speed like I do?
Man..... Seeing that pic of yours makes me super jealous. Mine's turning into a rustbucket, and it's got all kinds of small dents and stuff. Yours looks like a semi- taken care of car. I think mine lived in a shopping cart receptacle.

The problem with the dual mass is weight but mainly that it can't be machined. I'd have to buy a new flywheel regardless, why not go lighter? Plus I'm trying for under $500 all said and done for flywheel + clutch kit. The car does have a few dings and rust spots but man does it look sexy in pictures.
And yea, I think this would work as a SL series car. But still an SR 240 would beat it.

Following for under $500 clutch/flywheel combo. I have a 6 speed though. Would really like something a little cheaper than $1000 for a clutchmasters kit.
I'm eventually shoving in my LS2. So I just need a clutch for now. I'm 90% sure the E36 M3 clutch will fit, I'm just kinda iffy about it since it's such a pain to take the trans back out.

Buy the valeo smf conversion kit. They're around 500 I think for clutch and flywheel.
Will it take clutch dumping from a stand still? I can't seem to find a torque rating on it.

Nice! I have an event on the 9th, if the clutch doesn't hold up, I'll pick one up. Otherwise, I'm gonna get a roll cage because I haven't consistently tandemed ever. In my like... 13 years of drifting lol. I've done private days and what not though.

New car did really well. Boiled the PS fluid and got a misfire when the motor got hot from doing so many laps back to back. I think I'm gonna put in a hydro hand brake asap. But at least it forced me to learn some left foot braking.

Did you do any fender work up front? Running 225 45 17? Still looking forward to my SLR kit, although Sean told me to call this week to check up on my order, and he hasn't returned my calls.
Did you even roll the lip flat? Do you have limiters in still? I love that it looks stock.
I have done no fender rolling or anything. I slapped the kit/suspension on and put in my bucket seat. I have done no other mods to this car. I haven't had time.
Which limiters are you talking about? The PO put in RTAB limiters. <3

I was asking about steering rack limiters for SLR. Do the wheels clear everything at full lock? That would be sweet! Although I think My suspension might be a little lower than yours in the front.
I put Poly RTABs in, which Don't exactly act like limiters, but must have a similar effect. The rear end is WAY more planted than it was.
I rub in the front. I think 5mm spacers would be fine. No sway bar currently tho.

I'll be pulling my swaybar off too, I've been drifting with it disconnected for a while because I broke an endlink a while back. I've got 30mm spacers up front haha, on my style 162, ET 34
