Are v.3 strut mounts really taller?

US-market E34 front strut mounts (non-EDC) came in three flavors:

31331134096 - version 1, M12 nut, big dust cap. All models up to 7/90.
31331139437 - version 2, M14 nut, big dust cap. 525i sedan from 7/90 up to 9/92. All other models (including 525iT) from 7/90 on.
31331139452 - version 3, M14 nut, small dust cap. 525i sedans from 9/92. Different 2-piece design, shared with E30.

I found (and now lost) a single old post on this forum claiming that the v.3 mount adds ~1/4" of ride height. I'm buying shocks and mounts, and v.3 are cheaper than my current v.2, but I don't want the height gain.

Can anyone positively confirm that they're actually taller, or that they aren't? My searching skills aren't finding much on this.
