A little history first - this is a car that I bought about a month ago has 127K miles. SO far I have replaced the thermostat, water pump and most of the coolant hoses. I also replaced the oil filter mount gaskets and the cooler connection gaskets. these were leaking. I also replaced the valve cover gasket but don't think it was leaking - at least no oil in plug wells and both side of the gasket were dry on the mating surfaces. I also installed a catch can while doing this.... I have only run the car maybe 5 minutes since all of this but there is still oil forming on the bell housing, running down and dripping on the floor. I was able to speak with the shop this morning in NJ that replaced the turbos last year - 4 K miles ago. He was super and the owner of the shop that did the work. He is an ex-BMW tech that seemed pretty sharp. He said he remembered the car and the job - he replaced the turbos with BMW updated turbos - but only replaced the "O" rings on the oil feed lines - PO was trying to save some money at that point.. Bill was over $6K for what they did.
I have a Bore scope/camera that I have tried to look up in that area to find leak origin - no luck. The oil pan is also wet so I guess I will do that next as well. FYI: The leaks start higher than rear or front main seals...
Looking for answers from anyone that has chased these leaks down....

Up date - I found the oil pan to be leaking quite badly so I guess that will be next. Then when draining the oil I discovered that it had too much oil - don't really know how much to much as it went into my drain catch can. I know it drained too long for 6 qts thio....no damn dip stick, hate that!

The pan is finished and car is back together....I don't ever want to do that job again. After dropping the front sub frame to accomplish this job I am here to say it is a BITCH. After purchasing this car just over a month ago I have now driven it about 200 feet and I have replaced the water pump, multiple hoses, thermostat, valve cover gasket, power steering res and two hoses and lastly the oil pan gasket.......I am thru for a while.
