Hey
So on my 99 528i, I did the OFH gasket a couple months ago and just did the VANOS oil line a few days ago. I replaced the CCV, oil separator, and everything a year ago. However recently there has been this oil leak that has me bummed out. It's leaking on the drivers side.... so makes me think it has to do with something under the manifold.... what other common leaks are there. The car is around 105k miles.
Thanks

That's near the front of the engine. There isn't much else in that area that leaks oil. How fresh is the valve cover gasket ? It does'nt usually leak at that location. Should you double check all CCV hose connections? Did you use new washers on both ends of the new vanos line? Check the vanos line bolts?
Valve cover gasket never was done. Could be that. I did not tighten the Banjo bolt very tight as many forums warned against over-tightening it.
One other thing was when removing the original Banjo bolts, the two washers outer diameter sizes were different.... but when I went to the dealership to buy new washers, they said that the two washers on either sides are the same.....
I'll take a pic when I get home.

How about the oil filter housing gasket?
That is a common failure over time where oil starts leaking near the location of your pic.
His original post says he did the oil filter housing gasket.
If all your previous work is up to snuff could be the oil pan gasket.
If you think the valve cover gasket is original, or it’s age is unknown, you should definitely replace it. Not sure that is the link here. Make sure those banjo bolts are snug but don’t overtighten them. There should be washers in either side of the “banjo”. I always assumed they were the same.
I think you have the evil oil pressure seal plug leak that is located on the back side of the oil filter housing. You can confirm with a bore scope or a mirror. If it is the plug there are a few hacks or you buy the entire housing. Good luck.

Hey so I ended up figuring out what it was. It seemed to be the new crush washer that I installed.....
Here is what I bought
And 4x new OEM GENUINE crush washers at the dealership.
Might need to go with genuine on this one.... I think it may be because of the aftermarket part.... it was five stars though so I don't understand......

URO parts do not have a good reputation, although my experiences haven't been bad. Crush washers I'm almost embarrassed to say I almost always reuse without leaks. It having two different size crush washers when you got in there may be a key though.

Still not sure since it was an aftermarket part. I already reordered the same line on FCP with new washers, etc.

The proper washers are tin plated copper. They need to deform slightly in order to seal. Use a torque wrench to tighten the banjo bolt to get the proper deformation.
Inspect the surface of the end fitting and banjo bolt when you remove the hose. If I recall, Uro uses black painted fittings. The sealing surfaces may have a paint drips, rather than being flat and smooth.
