OK so I have had issues with my convertible top. The locks broke ($2500)..BMW fixed them in 2017 and I filed a claim with law firm who is handling the class action law suit. I was compensated for that expense So then the top stopped opening and I took the top to BMW. They advised that due to law suit, They would cover top until August 1st 2018. The top again stopped going up. They advised they changed sensors and updated software. Again we went to use th top and the top would not go down. The issue was that we were going on vacation. We took the car and two days later the top went down. INTERMITTENT PROBLEM!!! So I took the car back to BMWQ and they advised that there are no fault codes and they cannot do anything.
I asked them what I should do to document the issue if it isINTERMITTENT PROBLEM!!!. They would not provide any advice. I was going to send the Attorney a letter and copy corporate BMW. I feel that if this INTERMITTENT PROBLEM!!! is not resolved by August 2018 that I am out of luck. Has anyone else any advice to get this problem documented so after August, I am still possibly covered.
Even an intermittent problem would leave an error code - I would buy one of the cheap INPA lead/software sets that are available on Ebay and check for error codes - that would be pretty good evidence!
