help needed with LCM 4 - self leveling not working

Hi all, I installed LCM4 to be able to control all the cold checks/flickers, my self leveling xenons wont self level anymore.

The only time they do any movement is if I turn on 'bexenon' option (which i do not have), in which case they do the up/down thing if the brights are switched on.

Any idea? LWR 3 is also present. I thought unplugging it may help in case on interference between the 2 modules, but without it self leveling doesnt work at all, even with bixenon enabled.

Did you code the LCM4 to your car using NCS Expert? If not, you need to code it to defaults for your car using a reset profile.

I coded the LCM4 using PA soft. I have not used NCS expert or dummy yet - I have them installed but I am not comfortable working in them yet - quite frankly i'm quite lost in NCS.

Well, PA Soft doesn't have all the coding options you need to convert it from e53 to e39, so I would suggest reading the ncsdummy how to and doing a reset on the LCM4. Don't worry, it's not easy to mess up.

Yeah. You should be way more worried about screwing something up with PASoft than NCSExpert/Dummy. Not that I don't use PASoft... but what they put in a 'tickbox' is sometimes arbitrary, and ill described and they've been known to have some glitches... NCSExpert/Dummy... that's extremely dummy-proof as long as its not some rare, exceptionally sensitive flower module, like MRS or the cabrio-top module for an E46...

LOL, speaking from experience on those?

I've been around this community for a while now, and I'm very good with computers, but I still have yet to take the plunge into NCSExpert or NCSDummy. Something about the way it works just is completely unintuitive for me.

Ha ha. That's a shame Nate. It's a Fab set of tools to have. And it's "easy" once you get the paradigm down... ie read w Expert , analuze/process/edit w Dummy, then write back w Expert. You'd be pro w it in no time, I'm sure, let me encourage...

It's the German and the very Win98 interface that gets to me. I've had very little time working with pre-XP and pre-OS X software.

Well you don't have to face any German basically. Esp using Dummy. But yeah. It's pretty "Windows for Workgroups" (ha.) look and feel.
