Wanted: Exhaust for my early 87 635CSI

I want to stay original BMW--so not really looking for aftermarket. Mine is fine on the inside and sounds great--but the outside is rusted bad for some reason. Nothing else on the car has an ounce of rust.

My 89 is the same way, pipes and resonator look good and very solid, I've had them down a couple times for other repairs. My muffler sounds great but is rusting through the 1st layer, and has been for 10 years now. I keep thinking I should replace it but it works fine, a new BMW mufflers about $700.00 if I remember right, so I just keep going, 150,000 29 years, just amazing lol... Good luck with your search, where are you in OR? I run to Forest Grove a lot, kids there..

I am down in the southern part of the state. Muffler sounds like new--I hate looking at that outer layer of rust of the resonator and muffler--otherwise there is no visible rust.

No mods needed. Not too loud and no droning at speed.

You stated early, this is for pre 6/87.
