Hi.
I have a fatal attraction to E34's and have an eye on a 540i.
The seller tells me it is an AC Schnitzer, but looking at the vin code, I can't find anything which designates it as such. Are there any tell tales in the VIN or on the vehicle (except badges and spoilers etc).
Cheers
I'm pretty sure that AC Schnitzer was/is considered an auto manufacturer so had their own VIN #s. Suggest you wait for the experts to advise and that you don't pull the trigger on this purchase yet. Sounds to me like a car that has been "Scnitzerized" but not the real deal.
If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower. - Mark Donohue
Schnitzer didn't have their own VIN, everything was put in the cars papers, but no special VIN like Hartge did.
If it looks and drives the way you want, what's the VIN matter?
