    1995 M3 misfire, 1226 code

Help guys. I've recently run into a problem with my 95' M3 where the car seems like it's misfiring, check engine light on, terrible acceleration and bad idle. Did the stomp test and pulled the code 1226 (knock sensor #2). Could this problem be the knock sensor or something totally different?

How many heat cycles on knock sensors? They can crumble as they age.
Conversely, get some contact cleaner and lubricant and clean the harness connection.

Heat cycles? I just ordered 2 knock sensors to replace #1 and #2. Could a faulty knock sensor really cause the car to be almost un drivable?

When my 1226 code came on (every now and then) it was fine to drive. I did notice a bit better torque after I swapped them. (They are tough but do-able w/o removing the mani).

It sounds like you have a different issue though, vacuum leak to start?

Unplug your maf and see if it evens out.
Then clean the maf with maf cleaner.

Already cleaned it. Are you saying unplug it and let it run unplugged?
