    M50B25TU - 2.8L ECU solution needed

I've found myself in a situation where I have a M50B25TU (single vanos) with the crank, rod, and pistons out of a M52B28 and (stock cams, intake, exhaust) and I don't know what ECU solution i need in order to run it. I've read various claims of running a different ECU's but I wanted some feed back from people who may have done this same thing and what they've done to get their cars running.

This is an OBD1 and the original ECU is the BOSCH silver 413.

Jim C used to have a huge list of Red Label “413” ECU chips. Check out the Turner Website, I imagine the have a chip for your set-up.

    Thanks for your response.

I spoke with Turner and they said they didn't have anything for me.

Your comment about the Red Label 413 implies that it would run the setup. Could you clarify what you were saying with your reference to the Red label 413?

I'm really just looking to get the engine running properly. I'm not overly concerned with trying to get a nice performance tune out of it yet. Step 1, get car running.

I had a 2.8 M50. Ran silver label 413 with chip made from Racing Pros on ebay. Very nice guy and would be able to tune finer if you can hook up a wideband. Currently using his tune on my full OBD1 s52. Never had any issues. Turner should be able to help. There are plenty of tuners that should be able to do this.

Zack from 22rpd.com can make you a custom tune/chip for the red label 413 that'll make that motor sign. I've worked with Zack on my custom OBD1 stuff and he did a great job. Get in touch with him for an OBD1 tune. He's also on here as "vollosso".
