    E39/540iT Brembo upgrade

    Hi there,

I'm planning to upgrade my front brakes froms OEM to Brembo 4pistons calipers, just tired of the neverending issues with OEMs......

Do you guys know whats the OEM caliper PCD, so I can make my adaptors between front hubs and Brembos?

Or point me a thread if it's already exist.

    THX

What are the never ending issues with the OEM brakes? In my opinion they're reasonably good.

Ha! Took the words right out of my keyboard. "errrrmmmm WUT neverending..."

The big ol' 540 mono-pots (as well as the M5 big ol' mono-pots) seem pretty rock solid. Underrated actually... they are a little heavy but BMW has worked out the 'big-single Ate brake system' pretty well IMO.

Nothing wrong w/ Brembo BBK BTW, just sayin.. nothin really wrong w/ the factory setup at all.

I do wish the M5 would have gotten a fixed aluminum caliper setup so the rest of us could have an easy upgrade path. But yeah, these brakes are pretty robust as is.

If the OPs considering the Brembo's off the E38 (or similar, not sure you got the 728i in the states that came with the Brembo calipers) then personally; I'd stick with stock calipers, decent discs and pads and braided brake lines

The 4 pot Brembo's aren't/weren't all that IMO and I find the E39 brake calipers do a fine job at stopping my car, from speed, using good discs and pads

neverending : brake shaking, age, tech'....

    I'm in the process :

    It's a 17" BBS wheel, with a 332x30 disk

Still have app.5mm room Was going to a floating disk, but for what I have to do with the car this year so far, it's enough .

And for the price of recon' OEM calipers, these 4pot were cheaper ^^

I'm guessing those are the aforementioned E38 Brembos..?
