    m10 probs

    just rebuild my m10.
but i got some problems. the fuel is like 1.5 years old since that took my restoration of the car. it starts cold and hot good. idle is good. its just a constand speed it will shoks (its not smooth) and at higher rpm like 4.5k 5k its lacking power.
i cant find it. tps is working. if i put it on the co meter its like 0.25 and i cant go up or down if i screw on the afm. if the car is in my garage for like 5 mins it smels bad and it hurts my eyes. oh and the eco meter on the dash doesnt do much only when full throtle it moves abit.

    anyone ideas?

And the gas is still old gas? You have not changed it and pulled the fuel lune to pump out the old?

Pour rubbing alcohol in the tank to help with bad gas. A few quarts will help.

Do you have someone you can swap an afm with to test that?

Just out of curiousity, why would you rebuid an M10 and then run 1.5 year old gas? Seems lazy and a source of issues...

it could because the old gas was probably varnish.

but the o2 not moving is another. it sounds like your afm might be an issue so you need to test that. there is a way to check it with a multimeter on the pins, or find a local person and see if you can swap the afm for a test run

    - - - Updated - - -

the afm wiper arm puts a track on the circuit board after a while and it will cause the afm to not read properly so your car doesn't know how much air is coming in. if your swap or pin test shows the afm to be bad, pop off the little plastic cover and inspect the track where the arm swipes on the circuit board. if its really worn, you can just bend the arm to swipe a different area and it should fix your afm issue.

I had the same problem because I had more car painted years ago, it was just the gas was old. Even when I run it down low and refilled it with new gas it came back for a short period of time. I think there was just a little bit of bad gas in the tank. I ran it low again refilled it second time and put fuel cleaner in and have no problems now.
