Hi guys,
I bought a 2002 730d E65, so I’m new on this model, my old ride was always an E39 530d manual shifting.
So, the AC doesn’t work, the front electric fan doesn’t move and I checked with Carlysoft, shows two electric fan faults.
Despite this, works very strange, for instance on the highway the air from the rear vents is cold with the AC on, but in the front the air vents blows hot air to the passenger side and the driver side so so
Even with the AC off sometimes the air from the vents is very hot, like when someone sets the climate to warm the car.
All settings are fine, so it’s not a setting related problem.
I want do mention when I did the diagnostic with Carlysoft, I also add a water valve fault, I erased this fault and never shows again.
No FSU issues detected, but I ordered a new one just in case.
I guess I have a problem with the water valve and that’s the reason the system blows hot air inside the cabin, and for sure I need a new electric fan, I’m not sure about the AC gas charge, I have this car for two days so I’m not sure if needs to refill the air con.
Any advices?
Other issue is related with the transmission, when I stop the car like in traffic lights, the transmission kicks, just when I’m about to stop, feels like someone hits you in the back.
I heard about the guibo flex disk to cause the problem or gear box software update needed.
I’m note sure about this problem and I’m afraid if this issue can cause damage if not solved.
Can I postpone this or I need a urgent repair in order to save any other components?
The gearbox shifts very soft, no problems at all down shifts perfectly well and no transmission diagnostic fault related.
The only issue is this kick when stopping, I guess from 2 gear to 1 but I’m not sure.
A little worry about this because I’m afraid this can escalate to a more serious transmission problem, what you guys advice me to do ?
Forgot to mention this kick happens only with the warm engine.
Thank you so much

First, try replacing with new fluid & filter.
TRANS
Check the wiring and fuse for the heater control valve,
it defaults to open when it loses power.
HEAT
Remove the radio, then you should be able to view the vent flaps,
and observe their operation.
VENTS
Thanks a lot.
Tomorrow I will check the fuse box and the vents
I have the same 2-1 kick on my 730d. It's most likely a acting up solenoid in the transmission mechatronic. So oil change wont help. I changed my guibo and it made a huge difference, but mine was so broken that I felt it everytime I was driving.
The 2-1 kick isn't as noticeable as it was with broken guibo, but I can still feel it. Sometimes it doesn't even do it. I've been tryin to find another mechatronic so I could put new solenoids and sonnax zip kit for it and then just replace mine. No luck so far.
I might try the software update too.

I would not say it won't help,
but it may help,
which is why I worded my suggestion as "try".
I have witnessed a simple fluid & filter change perform "Miracles",many times.
Yeah, I know what you mean about "miracles". I also had TC shudder and instant shudder fix worked wonders. I will probably do full rebuild on the transmission later so this helped me a lot making more miles out of it. And after new guibo it feels completely different, as if the tranny was rebuilt already.
