removing audio amp and fuel sender wiring

The rats have chewed through my fuel tank sender wires on the port side. It appears impossible to make a butt connection between the tank and frame where the wiring harness splits. From what I can tell the wires go through the trunk behind the audio box but I cannot see how to remove the box to get to the wires. Any suggestions?

In addition I need to re-glue the carpet to the audio box which would be a mess in the trunk.

Wires go through a rubber grommet and down the left fender well inside the car.

Use carpet spray adhesive to reattach the carpet piece. The whole cover can be unsnapped from its hinge to make it easier to do that.

Thanks, I see what appears to be pins through the hinge. I'm guessing just pull backwards and it pops off? Hopefully I can make the connection in the trunk.
