    Smile RFT replacement

Hello all! I have recently bought a 2012 E92 328xi and I have owned the car for about 4 months now and since owning the car I have had 3 flat tires. Thankfully I had runflats so I wasn’t stranded,But I recently started reading reviews and have found out that many other people have had the same problems from pot holes and also the added road noise And also having a problem with the tires blowing out due to potholes. Grant it I understand if you’re gonna hit a pothole you’re gonna hit it but I’ve never dealt with tire blow outs as often as I have had with runflats and they’re way to costly. So I recently have bought 4 new tires with would be the continental DWS 06s and I’m slightly worried due to not having a spare. Another thing is BMW offered me a two tire replacement and a 2 year warranty for around 2800$ and I was going to do it until they waited almost TWO weeks to get ahold of me and by that time I already made a purchase at a near by NTB to have the DWS 06s put on Monday morning. Which I had a warranty there that they would replace all 4 tires mount balanced and alinement and also a life time warranty of the tires for 1200$ which I thought was a decent deal compared to the 2800$. Also I was told by BMW that since I’m replacing the factory run flats I’m going to risk messing up transfer case which I didn’t think would matter if I got the same size tires. So I’m curious if anyone can help me know if this was a bad idea to go thru NTB and get non run flats or if the non run flats would be better handling and less road noise and hopefully hold up better on these awful roads of WV (PS I drive slow and always swerving to avoid potholes and bumps in the road way) any information will help!

For runflats I would look at bridge stone drive guards, my customers really like them. If you have americas tires store in your area buy them there not the dealer buy the extra warranty and the replacement tire is about $40.00 dollars

Liking the Driveguard all seasons on my 2015 335xi. Quiet and comfortable.

You've probably looked. at my thread in the Tire section.

Coincidently, I wiped out two nearly new Driveguards with a wicked pothole on the NYS Thruway. ( 0ne busted the other with a bubble)

I gotta believe that this impact would have taken out any tire or tires. As it was the RFs got us 30 miles home and off the side of the interstate.

The RFs did transmit enough force to also ruin two wheels. Not sure what this means overall.

( BTW OP. I was driving at the speed limit and watching when this pothole snuck up on me)

I have not looked at your thread yet but I will go and find it! Thanks for replying! And I have to agree that the technology means well but I’m use to my 1990 325ix and my 1976 2002 and I figured I’d buy a newer BMW and I love the car it’s just I’ve been so disspointed with how well these tires have done and the fact the dealer treated me like this when it was something as major as a tire ): but I still love bmw I’m just having a rough new bmw experience!

I would steer away from the run flats. Look for a Pirelli or Michelin in the right size
