    Fuel pump

Bought a e46 325 with a blown fuel pump, put in a e36 316 pump I had and off it went.problem is it sounds like it’s misfiring at low revs?the icv was blocked but question is is the 316 pump holding it back?thanks in advance

What control the fuel pump in your car. In the M3 it is the ecu and I was wondering if that might be your problem. Would think low revs would not be the pump unless it is controlled by the ecu. Last time the fuel filter was changed?

It’s like as if it’s being starved of fuel until you rev it up then misfire goes, just thinking a 316 pump won’t be strong enough

Find the specs on the fuel pump and compare it to what you are replacing. My initial question still stands. Only reason I ask is when I did my engine swap I used the old pump and have never had a fuel issue.

The part numbers are the same-they end in 6942.

Could be a bad coil, could be IACV. Go on youtube and look at the videos the 50's kid does on the e46. Simply to follow and takes you through the steps you could use to solve your issue.l Air fuel spark.
