Please help recommend a subwoofer for 2000 e38

I’m looking to replace my factory subwoofers with a small upgrade. Are they out there that someone can recommend? I don’t want a 10-12” box. Just simple 5.5 or 5.25 replacement that are good enough. My 2000 e38 has the DSP. I know monsoons are the cheap upgrade but they’re coming hard to find. I’m opting just to replace the foam itself. As a last resort can anyone recommend a good subwoofer where I can just plug and play or just reform?

I know stock subs aren’t up to par, but I’m not a fan of those huge subwoofers. Just want it stock looking clean with good bass. Thank you..

Are your speakers blown or has the paper surround deteriorated? If it's the surround that has deteriorated you might want to check out these guys.

I used their butyl rubber surround kit on my E38 with DSP and was very pleased with results, especially for the cost as compared to sourcing 4 new subs. They offer a paper replacement as well.

In 2002 I installed a BassLink subwoofer in the trunk of my 7:

As you can see, it doesn't take up that much trunk room. It's not window shaking loud, but it does add some good bass as the existing system isn't that great (I have DSP).
