Hello all,
New to this site. I have a a high mileage 1999 740i with premium sound (DSP), no navigation system. Radio is fantastic. I recently purchased a 2001 740IL with DSP and the nav system I have no use for. The 2001 has only 110k miles and runs well. It is now my daily driver. I was wondering if it would be possible to swap out the non-navigation premium sound system from the '99 (head unit, mid and amp in trunk) and install in the 2001, replacing that head unit and amp. Does anyone know if this is possible (from a compatibility standpoint)? If it's installed and is functional, would I see any benefits in sound quality assuming I didn't also switch the speakers?

Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
