Engine wants to stall when pulling away

    Hi all

My 89 E24 idles ok cold and warm but has an issue when pulling away (or just revving in park) - if I'm very gentle with the throttle it picks up ok but any normal acceleration causes it to almost stall / stutter before then picking up. Its had a recent service - oil & flier hates, the AFM and ICV have been cleaned, plugs changed etc. Thoughts?

    Thanks
    James (London)

Vacuum leak, air is entering past the AFM and the ECU can't compensate.

Just my best guess without more info.

Make sure you have no intake leaks,
usually caused by unseen cracks in the rubber intake boots,
along with all associated rubber hoses.
Make certain that the ICV is flapping freely, not sticking.
Check the Throttle Valve Switch for clean connections,no bent pins.
