My inner tail light (the ones mounted to the tailgate) on the passenger side has failed. They are LED and I believe they are on all of the E70 LCI models. My X5 is a June 2013 build date. I see that the F25 X3's have LED repair kits out there for the taillights to replace the faulty Valeo board. Has anybody tried this fix on the X5 inner tail lights? I would like to do this vs. buying a new inner tail light at nearly $200.
Here are links to the X3's fixes. My guess is that it would work on the X5 LCI models but I am not sure. Apparently re soldering failed joints is only a temporary fix.

Any update on this one?
Did the X3 fix work?

Haven't dug into it yet. The seller of one of the circuit board solutions on eBay is curious as well. I am surprised this is not more common on the e70 LCI X5's. When I find the solution I will post with details.
Update.. LED board appears to be fine. The gaskets failed and water / salt mix got behind the taillight causing corrosion and shorted out the light bulb housing.
