use copper anti-seize on Valve cover bolts?

    Hello All,

I am about to do my valve cover gaskets, was wondering if it is a good idea to use copper anti-seize compound on the valve cover bolts? I have heard that it helps but was curious if anyone here has had experience..

You shouldn't need to, but they need to be replaced (they're aluminum) and torqued to 9nm on the N52K.

Wow!! I was surprised to confirm that the VC bolts are aluminum, one time use fasteners.

    I guessed that you drive a 530.

I tend to use anti-seize on ALL my fasteners, either copper based or aluminum based, depending on application…even on my bicycles. LOL!!

They are also four different types of bolts.

    .
If your engine has a plastic valve cover, they are not aluminum and do not need replacing. If you have the metal valve cover, then they are aluminum and must be replaced and torqued properly.

Thanks for your feedback!. When I check the replacement valve cover bolts; the description says that those are aluminum however!
