I was rummaging around under the hood today and found a couple of tablespoons worth of oil pooled up in the driver's side engine mount. I'd noticed signs of a leak while under the car replacing my O2 sensor but wasn't able to spot anything worthwhile. The leak is also not serious enough to where it causes oil stains (yet).
If anyone has had a similar issue it would greatly assist me in proceeding.
Much thanks as always!
There are a number of places for oil to come from on that side. The oil filter canister is there, as are the two lines from the canister to the block. Of course it could be from the valve cover gasket. I actually had a severe oil leak from the oil pressure sensor on the side of the oil filter canister. The best course of action is to start low, and work your way up. Oil will not flow up or forward

I appreciate the response!
I've had quite a few issues with rubber parts that have long be in need of replacement. If the lines from the canister to the block are rubber then that's probably the beginning and the end of it. Maybe even my oil filter cannister lid isn't properly affixed.
I will also check this oil pressure sensor as well, and let gravity work for me.
Much thanks!

Shogun tricks and tips for the E32 series are HERE!
I appreciate the link shogun, that was the area under the vehicle that I suspected the leak was coming from (passenger side). Regardless i'm gonna get under there and check out that bolt referenced in the link.
After my initial discovery of the oil puddle in the engine mount I cleaned up the area and waited for my oil to pool up. After 100 miles there is no new oil on the engine mount! I suspect that the oil was spilled there during my previous oil change. Is there a reason someone may add oil to the engine from the dipstick or is there another way/reason for oil to get spilled there?
Thanks as always!
Last year or a little longer ago I had oil from everywhere all at one time. Never before had a leak. I immediately did this fix at the crank position sensor but it was not my only problem. My leak there was minimal. We did the oil pan gasket which was believe it or not original after 179000 miles, but then still had oil coming out of the main rear seal. Had a little problem with that part. Pulled the transmission and replaced the seal and it was still leaking. We blamed it on the parts manager at Vista BMW for should of told us to never replace that rear main seal without the 90 cent shim that goes with it. So out with the transmission for the second time and in goes a new seal with the shim. Been almost two years and my garage floor is still dry as a bone.

Oil on the drivers side engine mount could have also been from the oil filter when you replaced the oil. If you are not careful it will leak as you pull the filter out. 100 miles should have showed some signs. Make sure it isnt a slow leak coming from somewhere higher up that hasn't yet made its way down.
