The battery weighs a little less than me, and I don't feel the need to balance my heft with a sandbag in the passenger seat when I drive alone. I can't imagine anyone could notice. But in keeping with sound principles, I put the big battery on the right, partially offsetting my big butt.

I just left the cable there and insulated the connector by wrapping it with a rubber glove and some electrical tape. Probably overkill on the insulation. I wanted to keep it in the car mainly because if I removed it and put it on a shelf in the garage, I'd never find it again!

As far as weight is concerned, I don't think our 2-ton behemoths really notice the "missing" 25-lbs on the left rear.
