One of my family members asked me to help them to value this car, and to figure out how to sell it. Without knowing basically anything about classic BMW's and their collectability, I am hopeful to seek some guidance here.
The family member is 83 years old, so his memory of the car is a little hazy. Here is what we do know:
1973 3.0 CSI
European Model - sold in Europe
Family member bought in 1980 and imported to US
Mostly if not completely original
"Lots" of miles, 200K + kilometers, odometer does not work
No accidents or body work
some surface rust, but not much at all (pictures below)
We need help with value guidance and best way to sell it. From what i can find, it looks like this car might be worth some real money, but I can't be sure. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!

Hi. There are two places I would go to check prices. One is the Hagerty valuation tools through Hagerty.com. They place the average price for a #3 car at $43,600 for a '74 model which is the closest I could get to the Euro CSi. Original paint, import papers and records help the value. However, I do find Hagerty's values to be on the high side.
The other is BringaTrailer.com which is a great place to sell the vehicle at auction and let the market decide the price. If you do a search on BMW e9 there, you will see real auction results and be able to compare recent sales.
Good luck with the sale. It looks like a wonderful car in a gorgeous color. Groosh
That's lovely. Good luck with the sale.
