Car wint start

my e30 wont start, when I turn the key I hear the clicking noise, but no crank at all. I got a new starter installed a few weeks ago. went to the autozone up the street and they checked my battery, starter and alternator and said that everything was good. what do I do now?

its in park or neutral? its a stick or auto?

try removing, cleaning and re-attaching all battery post connections, power and ground strap connections at the starter, check for any loose, dirty or corroded power or ground connections

So autozone tested the battery. And, they bench tested the starter? The solenoid engaged and the starter spun? Assuming that worked. Where is the clicking noise coming from? I agree with above, clean and check all the connections. These wires are 30+ years old.

Are you getting 12V on the big cable that attaches to the battery? When you try to start it, do you have 12V to the solenoid connection? It could be a bad relay, but to begin with you need to answer those questions.

The crank circuit is pretty basic.

thank you guys. i guess it has to be a connection issue.

when rn i went to autozone they tested my battery, alternator and starter all three passed there test. i’m not sure what test it was. I have to look a little more into it but thanks i think i’ll be able to figure it out with what i have so far. is it possible that either of you can link me to some information of the layout/diagram of the battery connectors? i’m still a beginner and learning as i go

First, undo your battery connection and clean them with a little wire brish, or somwthing similar. Than reconnect and ser what happens

If you go to wedophones.com you can find a down load able electric repair manual for e30s. Worth it's weight in bits and bytes
