Having my black 850i/6 micropolished and ceramic coated tomorrow..

I keep seeing these ads on Facebook for hydrosilex, yadda yadda. I tried the F11 and it does make the car seem deeper, but it leaves a haze that takes considerable hand buffing with a microfiber to get the streaking off.

My detail guy is using DiamondX I think is the name, going to spend a good 4-5hrs on it polishing the light swirls out, then coat it.

Anyone else have it done? If so, what did you think?

Had mine done -- original paint looks like new. Very pleased. First photo is the hood -- taken in a hotel lobby.

I saw the above car at SESF. it looked great! A couple of judges at the event commented on how much better Mike's car looked this year. I also had mine ceramic coated. It is an 18 year old repaint, but now looks amazing. If your choice of detailers is good, you will not be disappointed.

I just asked a detailer about doing mine yesterday, they want 800 to 1000 for the job? The trim on mine needs some kind of attention 1st then I'm all in for ceramic coating. Looks great from the pictures that were posted above.

I'll have to look into that... might negate the need for a full repaint.

Chillax: contact Presidential Automotive Detailing. they may not be the cheapest, but it will be way cheaper than a respray.

Thx BeanerBMW Will write that down!! Think they're like 20 minutes away. If the rain lets up will run over tomorrow. Think nose will need respray though. Clear coat is shot on the nose...

yes, that sounds inexpensive. I spent four times that and I am still happy with the result.

Lookup Showcarperfection.com in Anaheim Hills. I used them about 3 years ago and they are awesome. This before and after picture shows his great work with paint correction....the car wash is not good for your paint.

    That photo is fake news!

Just kidding.... I had the opportunity to see his 8er up close & personal this past Sunday at the Huntington Beach Concours and the depth of that paint is mesmerizing!
