Hi guys,
I'm in the process of rebuilding my oil pump on my 328i, I googled around and found all the correct part numbers.
What I found is that there is a metal inner piston on the 96-98 models opposed to the plastic one found on my 1995 328i.
Here are the two different part numbers.
1995: 11411703948
1996-98: 11411719937
Has anyone come across this? As it would make sense to go with the metal option.
Thanks
Your (Euro) 328 pump p/n - 11411740154?
US 11/1990 - 02/1995 pump - p/n 11411730475 superseded by 11411740154 (07/1994 and-on)
US 1996+E36 328 p/n - 11411740154
US 1999 E36 M3 p/n - 11411740154
Weird that the internal parts would be different.
According to my view of www.realoem.com, Control Valve p/n 11411719937 was in all 328 or 2.8L engines

The Control Valve p/n 11411703948 (supplied above) is shown as valid 09/1994 - 2003.

There is some chatter in another thread with regard to the early M5X engines having a smaller volume oil pump. I’m not sure if that is what we are dealing with here.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I forgot to mention that I'm in South Africa so my e36 will fall under ZA on realoem.com
My e36 according to my vin number on realoem.com came with an oil pump with this p/n:11411748153
I'm in the process of rebuilding it, not sure if I should stick with the plastic valve or switch over if possible to the metal valve.
I think I would stay with what is known to fit your pump.
Oil Pump 11411748153 does not show a suppression to 11411740154. I would be hesitant to mix parts with that in mind.
