Rather than dick around with older models, especially since I already have a '04 325xit in my garage waiting for a new engine, I thought I would look into very recent CPO 3-series, preferably with the B58, for my daily driver/road tripper.
A 2017 340i CPO caught my eye. I -think- I might look into a lease deal, maybe my BMWCCA membership will help.
Any thoughts?
we enjoy our 2015 335xi MT quite a bit.
Plenty fast and comfortable.
Current 340i about the same with 20 more ponies
you can feel the difference between the B58 and N55, more so with the MPSK. Wait for a 2018 though, the changes to the steering, iDrive and the instrument panel are worth it.

I've had my 2017 340i for about 5 months. I bought it as a CPO. Its my first BMW and I love this car. My previous car was an STi with Stage 1 mods. About the only thing I miss is having a limited slip differential, but its not something that will make much difference outside of a trackday for me. As far as road trips go, this car is great for them. I can sit in my 340i for 5 hours straight without discomfort. Try that in an STi - its not going to happen unless you are in your 20s.
I have had my 18' 340i xDrive for about a month now. Coming from a Dinan S2 15' 335 xDrive, I have to say I'm really impressed. I'm pretty sure (I haven't been to the track yet) that the 340 is a faster car in a straight line.
