    E87 nightmare towbar issue!

I've got a 2005 120i Auto. It has a facrory/dealer fitted tow hitch. I have the yellow car on a ramp warning light and parking sensors not working. Checked all the obvious then went to check tow hitch. Some lunatic has decided that rather than remove the wiring properly, they'd just cut through the complete tow hitch electric loom in the boot....I followed the loom uner the seat, down inner sill on n/s, up to the fuse box, where it was cut again. Nice. so now can't get yellow lamp off. (reset all service lights etc, so def tow hitch related)

does anyone know if the tow hitch has an ecu/control unit? Has anyone removed the factory tow hitch electrics, or installed one? I figure that as it was a dealer fit then it should be easyish to remove and put back to 'normal' but I need to know what should/did go where!

    Any help would be fantastic

Have you scanned the car for codes with a proper BMW scan tool (not a generic one P code reader)? That should help pin point the warning lights.
