05 330Cd - rear axle CV exploded, where can I buy a replacement?

Hi all,

I've tried to search the forums, and this is the error being thrown up: "connection to 127.0.0.1:9312 failed (errno=111, msg=Connection refused)" . I think the webmaster needs to check their search config.

On to my question - I have a 330Cd and the rear drive axle has gone bang. The plunger-style CV housing which bolts to the diff has cracked and exploded, so I need a new one. I can get 2nd hand, but I have no assurance they will be any good. Genuine BMW axles are around $550AUD, without shipping, so... are there any other suggestions? I've checked autodoc and they list ERA Benelux and General Ricambi units, but they're out of stock and don't look like they're made anymore.

Can anyone suggest where I can buy either good used, or new axles?

According to realoem.com the same rear axle shafts were used on all 325/330 models. Sedans, coupe, vert and touring gas and diesel rwd and awd. That's a lot of options for used parts. Kinda surprised the 330d doesn't have stronger axle since it produces twice as much torque as a 325i with the stock tune.
