Hi Guys,
I successfully swapped my sports seats from my 328i (LCI with active headrests; I'm selling her) to my 128i (with no active headrests). The seats were a plug and play, with all components working correctly. The right seat base is the sport seat.
I also swapped the heated seat switches and cable from my 328i and it worked without issue (which was a relief after reading everyone's issues).
The only problem I have is that the airbag warning is on, in both the 3 and 1 series. I disconnected the battery before I touched any cables so I'm not sure what is up. My Carly app could not switch off the warnings but the following codes came up:
128i
0093BF and 0093CO, driver and passenger seat position sensor.
328i
0093AE ZK6 Active headset
0093AF ZK7 Active restraint law.
Does anyone have any ideas? Am I missing something? Can I just get this coded out? Any experts out there?

Does the 128 have airbags in the seats and not in the doors?
Yes, both cars have airbags in the seats, none in the doors.
I think this might be because my E92 (LCI) has active headrests and the 128 does not. Would this seem plausible? Now the big question is what can I do about it?

Doesn’t seem plausible as it’s the airbag light that’s on.
Never say never!
So I finally resolved my airbag issue. Both cars were looking for different things with the airbags, but they both used the same single port to plug into.
The 128i was looking for seat position sensors. These inform the airbag system how close the seat is to the steering wheel and decide whether it is safe to deploy the airbags. I found two little plastic sensors on the seat rails (inside yellow oval in picture) and after switching these to the 328 sports seats the dash airbag warning went out, I didn't even have to reset it. So sports seats swap from my 328 into my 128 successful!
Next I had to get the 128 seats working in the 328 so that I could sell the car. I realized that the 328 seats have active headrests and the 128 does not. So I stripped the 328 seats down to remove the active headrest and wiring and wired that up to the 128 seats......voila, communication was successful.
What a relief. I hope this information is useful to others. In short, I successfully transplanted heated sports seats (with ai bolsters and lumber etc) from my aging 328 into a 128.
