Thread: [9'4 525i] Car wont idle with new turbo setup.

    ['94 525i] Car wont idle with new turbo setup.

    So I am currently having an issue with my car idling when the charge pipe is connected. When I disconnect the cold side by the MAF, the car idles and drives fine. Once it's connected and is using the turbo, the car won't idle, runs really rich (talking 8-11 afr). All my vacuum lines are fine and doesn't have any problems when not utilizing the turbo.

    Setup info:
    1994 525i, M50tuB25
    Holset HX35
    RSI manifold (wastegate blocked off, using holset internal)
    5lbs of boost
    Cometic, ARP studs
    2.5" intercooler piping
    HKS SSQV BOV
    Stock MAF, injectors, etc.
    Stock ECU

    Can anyone point me in the right direction of what the problem might be? Things to test, etc. Can provide more info if need be.

    Your using the stock MAF as a blow though setup ?

    Coming eventually. Sadly the WAR chip is out of stock from what I saw on the website. I need to find another chip. Is the MAF causing the problem? It's what I figured but I don't know enough to point any fingers.

    Put the MAF right after the air filter. Turbo inlet.

    I believe you may have air flow turbulence before the MAF. You should also be able to run your car out of boost with your stock Ecu with the turbo on.
