Lower Shock Absorber Bolt won't insert

In kind of a sticky situation here... I stripped the lower shock absorber mount thread, helicoiled it, but now it seems like the thread is at a different angle than it was before, so I can't put the bolt in along with the shock absorber. What can I do? And yes, if you couldn't tell already, I'm a beginner.

First, How is the car supported off the ground? Is there a jack stand under the rocker panel so the rear suspension hangs down? Or better is it on a lift and in the air? You may have to jack the suspension up a little to align the hole. If it's really crooked as you say you may have to loosen the shock at the top to align the bottom. Not ideal but it may work.

use a floor jack to get the shock perfectly level with the rta. Use your tools!

Yes, I know that I have to use the jack to lift the rear suspension and align the holes-- I've done it multiple times on the other side, but this side won't even let me start the bolt into the thread with the shock absorber. I will loosen the upper next time I try.

They can be difficult to start. Be patient. Get it square to the flange, which I think is slightly angled.

Try threading bolt without shock. If it can go in then, it’s just the shock and it’s oressure messing up your angle of entry.

If it won’t, try a rethreader on the bolt if it looks buggered or the flange.

bolt goes in without shock, but the angle of entry is completely different than what it should be with the shock installed.

Bolt does go in at an angle because the flange is angled. It is probably just as it should be.

Is it angled more than the other side? It would be real hard to drill it crooked since the hole was already there. Silly question but did you turn the shock 180 degrees and try it? Mount is angled

The shock twists so you should be able to get the angle to line up.

Attach the shock loosely at the bottom first then see if you can get the top to line up. You may have to drill it out straighter and use a bolt and nut.
