Vanos line durability after evidence of small seeping

Anyone have experience with vanos oil line completely removing itself? My line is seeping and have been putting the job off for a while. Trying to get an idea of the time it must be replaced.

Small seeping is what we see on a lot of these. I have customers that refuse to replace these for a long time. Every time they come in for an oil change it's a recommended repair. I've never even seen a wet one blow off.

It takes like 5 minutes and isn't particularly expensive...

Just did one on my friends car, did the OFHG at the same time, about $35 in parts. It had a nasty leak and once out any movement of the hose made the crimp connection to the steel part of the line loose.

Gave away my BMWs, driving a VW and an Audi now.

You know what they say though… Always have to leave at least one thing broken so other things dont break in its place

That leak progressed big time. Not at this stage yet

Thats good to hear. I wouldnt think that one would blow off but you never know. Vanos was designed really well, withstands time nicely and performs.

Without that slow leak, your engine bay would be a pile of rust!

Haha knew I was going to get made fun of because of that comment.

Have you ever had a teacher that would refuse to give you a 100 on a test and instead give you a 99 or something. Same thing. Learned that lesson early
