    745i Injector Service

    Hi all,

Have an '84 745i executive that I'm in the process of getting running again after sitting for a few years, and wondered if anyone has a good recommended source for service/cleaning of the original green top injectors.

    Gracias!

Awesome, thanks Hit Man! It's actually not a recent find. Amazingly the car has been in my family since new - my father is the original owner. After leaving Germany it's never left Fort Worth. ~75,000 original miles. Saphirblau on nutria buffalo. Here's the option decode:

    S209A Differential Lock 25
S218A LEATHER SPORTS STEERING WHEEL II
    S225A Standard Suspension
    S301A Alarm Systems
    S365A Rear Window Safety Glass
    S403A Glass Roof Electrical
    S418 VORBTELEFONEINBAU
    S427 WARNDREIECK MIT HALTERUNG
    S440A Nonsmoker Package
    S494A Seat Heating Driverpassenger
    S500A Headlight WipewashIntensive Cleaning
    S534A Automatic Air Conditioning
    S540A Cruise Control
    S975 SCHMUTZFAENGER HINTEN
    S979 VELOURSFUSSMATTEN VORN UND HI

The thing is mint cosmetically, but after sitting for a few years I'm currently battling a crank but no start issue. Been through the most of the motronic diagnostic testing, and everything seemed to check out. Have weak spark at the plugs, so I'm hoping it's just a worn out rotor (with '84 date code on it, cap looks okay and dates to '99). My plan now is to basically do a full ignition, vacuum, and fuel system refresh. Already have most of that stuff off of the car, just need to order the replacement parts.

Once I have this running, I'll get after my other '84 745i project. Delphin, minimal options, also an original Fort Worth car that my dad bought years ago as a "parts car" to have spares for the blue car, but it's too nice to kill and totally rust free, so I want to bring it back to life. Since the blue one is bone stock outside of the wheels, I'm thinking of hot rodding the grey car with a pre-facelift backdate, 5 speed swap and TCD turbo set up.

No way! I just assumed you were in Houston, no idea why though. In any event, may ping you for some additional info. May also be interested in one of your chips and and a wastegate. The parts car came from Fort Worth proper, as best I recall in one of the neighborhoods west of downtown, off of Camp Bowie, but I can't remember which one. It was a one-owner car as well before we got it.

Sending the injectors to Rich this week.
