2000 e46 323i, No Crank, No Start, No Nothing

I know this problem has been all sort of answered on a number of bimmer forums but I am at my wits end with this. When using the key you get absolutely no respond from the car. I have changed the battery, the starter, even changed fuses that did not seem blown but changed them anyway, and had the key reprogrammed. Even after all this the car still does nothing. Its like the car has made a statement that it just doesn't want to work any longer. I think I have tried everything that could be found on these forums but if someone has a new idea please let me know. I love this car and this is the first problem I have ever had with it since was new. Any ideas???

This is to add more to this issue. I should not have stated it does nothing because in the on position of the key all the lights in the cluster come on, the fan works, the radio and the outside lights which baffles me even further. That being stated when you turn the key to the run or crank position nothing happens even with all the things I have replaced. I had one person who works on European cars tell me she thought it could be a problem with the security system?????????

You need to take it to a bmw independent shop, who can check ews system to see if the car is seeing the key for starters
